As you may know we've been using a redirect to from the old website at "sandamianoyouth.org" to the new website at "thesdg.ucoz.org" because we hadn't actually moved the site over to the real domain.  We were trying to find the password to do that. 

 

Seems on friday the company who runs the ".ucoz.org" ending started having technical diffculiteis on friday and none of those links worked.  That is why the site said it was totally down.

 

Coincidentally that same day Father called the company who provides the "sandamianoyouth.org" domain and went through the process to put the new website at "sandamianoyouth.org".  That is why the website went back up later that afternoon.  Problem fixed.....

 

Sorta.  As you may have noticed the main page was up but none of the images or links to other pages were working.  I thought that was due to something else (see below), but this afternoon I realized what the problem was.  Because of the way we chose to do it every page and image on the website theoretically has two links.  e.x. www.sandamianoyouth.org/BannerLogo.JPG and www.thesdg.ucoz.org/BannerLogo.JPG Both of those should work.  So when we attached the domain the websites software didn't change all the links and what not because in theory they still should work.  The problem is ".ucoz.org" is broken right now so none of the links work.  So I went through and changed most of them to the "sandamianoyouth.org" versions.  There for most everything should work.  If I missed anything it should fix itself when ".ucox.org" gets fixed.

 

To throw a wrench into everything else.  The server and software service used to maintain the site is being updated.  That is actually what I though the problem was all along.  The results of that is that A) the site might run a little bit slow in the coming days and B) that site will be down for a few hours coming up soon(probably during the night) but I don't know exactly when.

 

Long Story Made Short, apart for being down for a couple hours some time soon, everything should be basically fixed with the website.  Oh, and use www.sandamianoyouth.org from now on, instead of www.thesdg.ucoz.org which you probably have in your bookmarks/favorites.

As you see the website has been majorly restructured, and there is a lot of new stuff so check it out.  A really useful thing is on the bottom of the music ministry page Joe is going to be putting this weeks songs that way you can practice them ahead of time.

 

The really important stuff is that which is going on with the group though.  As most of you know the iWitness His Love stations of the cross are coming up quickly on Friday, March 27.   (if you don't check out the page).  For those of you helping out two new important dates are coming up for rehearsals.  Rehearsal for music will be this Sat (3/21) immediately following the 6 p.m. Mass.  The full dress rehersal will be the day before the stations themselves on Thurdsay, March 26.  Hope to see you all there!

         I would like to introduce you to the new sandamianoyouth.org a.k.a. The SDG.  The new site offers many great advantages over the old site, including but not limited too:

Many of these benefits however only work if you sign up.  I would like to encourage everyone to register.  That includes parents too.  There is a part of the discussion board set apart for parents.  Also, by registering you will be automatically signed up for the email list about new events that are going on.  The link to register can be found at the top of the page.

 

The site is still under construction, and things will continue to be changed and updated in the coming weeks.  Check back often for new features, and pages because we are really excited about the new site.
